Dates and Almond Milk

This nutrient-rich milk is an amazing rejuvenating drink during colder months. Dates are very rich in antioxidants and fiber. They are naturally sweet and can regulate blood sugar levels. Almonds are a good source of protein and healthy carbs. They are rich in magnesium, vitamin E, and dietary fiber. It is better to consume this in the morning instead of at night as it can be easily digested during the day.

Ingredients:

4-5 Seedless dates

10 Almonds (soak overnight and remove the skin)

Pinch of Saffron

Pinch of cardamon powder

Pinch of cinnamon powder

1 cup of low-fat milk or Almond Milk

1 teaspoon ghee

Method:

In a bowl, soak dates for 30 minutes in warm water. After 30 minutes drain the water, and set aside.

Drain the Almonds and remove the skin.

In a saucepan, take ghee, add dates and almonds sauté them, and then add milk, cardamon powder, saffron, and cinnamon powder. Boil on medium heat for 5 minutes while stirring. Turn off the heat, remove from the stove and blend it using a hand blender. Just be careful as the liquid will be hot.

Serve warm. Enjoy.
