Golden Milk

This pick-me-up is like a cup of liquid gold! Turmeric, an ancient yellow herb, gives this delicious milk its bright color. It is anti-inflammatory loaded with antioxidants and helps support healthy joints. Turmeric has several health benefits and medicinal value. Its benefits and medicinal properties are derived from Curcumin. Curcumin is the main active ingredient in turmeric. It has powerful anti-inflammatory effects and is a very strong antioxidant. Turmeric improves joint health, immunity, and respiratory health. Turmeric improves digestion and balances Kapha, Pitta, and Vata Dosha. If taken in access it might aggravate Pitta Dosha.

Research shows that this wonder spice is anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, wound healing, anti-arthritic, pain-relieving properties. This recipe contains ginger, cinnamon, cardamom, and honey. All these also have healing properties of their own. Ginger aids digestion and is anti-inflammatory. It also improves respiratory health.

Recipe

1 cup plain almond milk.

1 teaspoon organic Turmeric or 1 packet of n* by Nutrilite™ Turmeric Latte

1/4 teaspoon of black pepper powder

1/4 teaspoon dry ginger powder or 1/2 inch of peeled and grated fresh ginger.

1/2 teaspoon of organic honey (optional)

1 cinnamon stick.

Pinch of cardamom powder.

In a saucepan, add almond milk, Turmeric, ginger, black pepper powder, cinnamon stick, and cardamom powder and heat it on medium flame.

Heat it while stirring it constantly till it boils.

Reduce the flame and let it simmer for 1-2 minutes while stirring.

Your golden milk is ready. Shut down the flame, pour it through a fine-mesh strainer in a cup, add honey and enjoy.
