Mixed berries sauce or mixed berries compote.
Today I bring you a mixed berries sauce/ mixed berries compote to go with your gluten-free or wheat-free chocolate chip pancakes. This recipe is ideal for people who do not want to eat unnecessary carbs or sugar or maple syrup.
You can store the compote for a week in the refrigerator. This recipe is free of sugar and is high in antioxidants from the berries.
Dry ingredients:-
1/2 cup fresh ripe blueberries
1/2 cup fresh ripe raspberries
1/2 cup fresh ripe blackberries
1/2 cup fresh ripe strawberries
Pinch of nutmeg
Pinch of cardamom.
1/4 teaspoon of cinnamon
1 teaspoon of organic homemade ghee
1 teaspoon of honey
Method:
Take a saucepan and warm the ghee.
Then add all the berries and mix well. Then with a potato masher mash the berries.
Add 1-2 tablespoon of water if needed for them to mix evenly.
Add cardamom, nutmeg, and cinnamon to the berries mixer.
Stir well and cook till all the liquid evaporates while stirring.
Let it thicken to a honey-like consistency.
Turn off the gas and then add a tablespoon of honey. Taste it. If you want, you can add more honey. I do not need more than a tablespoon because I take overly ripe berries.
Serve it with your pancakes, waffles, or on toast instead of sugary jams or syrups.
