Anti-inflammatory Sunshine Smoothie Recipe
In the summer, we crave for something light and chilled to keep us energized and hydrated. This smoothie is a great breakfast option to start our day right. This smoothie has summer written all over it.
Peaches, nectarines, and apricots are in season. We are using seasonal fruit to prepare the smoothie. Peaches and nectarines are packed with nutrients and antioxidants. They both provide almost the same nutrients and both are a good source of vitamin C, carotenoids, and potassium. They also provide vitamin E, B vitamins, calcium, fiber. This smoothie also contains ginger, carrots, and turmeric powder and they all provide additional health benefits.
Very light, refreshing, and packed with protein and nutrients.
(Makes 3 servings)
Ingredients:
1 cup of vanilla-flavored, vegan, organic protein powder or protein shake (use a good quality protein powder/shake) I use XS protein powder or bodykey meal replacement powder. Click here to reach me if you want more information on the products I use.
1 cup of almond milk
1 cup of ice cubes
1 ripe peach or nectarine
1 carrot / 4-5 baby carrots (organic)
1 small piece of ginger
1 pinch of turmeric powder
1 tbsp of raw honey
1 Pinch of cinnamon (optional)
1 Pinch of cardamom powder (optional)
1 Pinch of saffron (optional)
Steps:
Blend all the ingredients together in a blender.
