Jowar Roti

Incorporate the goodness of Jowar Roti into your diet to enjoy not only its delicious taste but also the numerous health benefits it offers.

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups jowar (sorghum) flour

  • Water (as needed)

  • Salt (optional)

  • Ghee (for brushing)

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Dough:

    • In a mixing bowl, add jowar flour. Gradually add water and knead to form a soft, pliable dough. Adjust water as needed. Add a pinch of salt if desired. Cover the dough and leave it for 30 minutes.

  2. Divide and Shape:

    • Divide the dough into small, golf ball-sized portions. Roll each portion between your palms to create smooth balls.

  3. Rolling the Rotis:

    • Heat a griddle or flat pan over medium-high heat.

    • Take a dough ball, dip it in dry flour, and roll it out into a thin, round roti on a floured surface.

  4. Cooking:

    • Place the rolled roti on the hot griddle. Cook until you see small bubbles forming on the surface.

  5. Flip and Cook:

    • Flip the roti and cook the other side. Use a kitchen towel or spatula to gently press down, encouraging the roti to puff up.

  6. Brush with Ghee:

    • Once both sides are cooked, brush the roti with ghee for added flavor and softness.

  7. Serve Hot:

    • Repeat the process for the remaining dough portions. Serve the Jowar Rotis hot with your favorite curries, vegetables, or accompaniments.
